Taxes in Ireland

  • Since the late 1990s, the Irish government introduced a flat tax for corporations of 12.5% (if profits do not exceed 200,000 IEP, because otherwise, it is 20%), and the tax on personal income was reduced from 40% to 20%.
  • This led to a 30% increase in the real income of workers: $34,000 per capita gross domestic product, which is one of the highest in Europe.
  • VAT IS 23%.

Registering a company in Ireland

It is important to note that a local EU resident director is required in Ireland. In case there is none, a nominee director can be found.

If nominee service is not suitable, there is a solution:

You can buy a bond of 25000 EUR for 2 years. This is done by the insurance company. The bond covers the risk of 25,000 EUR. The insurance company assumes all obligations and gives guarantees to the state registry. It has to be renewed every 2 years until you have a European resident director in your company or until you create a substance in Ireland (your office+employee). If you create at least 1 job and have your own office (co-working can also be used), you can get permission from the IRS to work without this bond.
